Sustainable avocados from Avova: organic & raingrown

Avova, a family-owned company that has specialised in avocados for generations, prides itself on its organic growing methods. Based in Peribán de Ramos, Michoacán, Mexico, traditional knowledge is combined with modern ecological practices to grow the best quality avocados. The region's location and climate guarantee high-end avocados.

Avova's avocados grow on fertile soil that is kept mechanically weed-free and enriched with organic fertiliser. Foliar fertilisers such as zinc and micro-elements and annual pruning keep the trees healthy.

Sustainability is at the heart of Avova's policy. To safeguard biodiversity, hunting and the use of chemicals in the orchard are banned. And Avova ensures a natural balance by preserving local flora and fauna. Moreover, the avocados are 'raingrown', using only natural rainwater for watering.

Eder (owner Avova) says: "Our avocados are a source of vitamins and minerals, and choosing organic cultivation is a conscious decision - from my asthmatic complaints - that benefits the health of our employees as well as consumers and nature. The switch to organic cultivation has not only improved soil fertility and biodiversity, but also contributed to better working conditions and a healthier end product.

What we value most about our work is the opportunity to contribute to a healthy environment and provide nutritious, quality avocados. We are proud of the positive impact we make, both on the environment and on the quality of life of our consumers."

Week 37, we received the first container of avocados from Avova. Of excellent quality. Contact your account manager for more information on our range of organic avocados from Mexico.
