The first containers of organic Kent mangoes from Burkina Faso are almost arriving. The flavour is particularly good this year - in fact, according to experts, the best Kent of all origins.
We are particularly proud of the quality as well as the impact behind these mangoes. Together with our partner in Burkina Faso, we offer a Living Wage for the people working in the packing stations.
The mango supply comes from the Bobo Dioulasso region, the heart of mango cultivation in Burkina Faso. There, the fruits are collected, transported overland to the port of Abidjan, and then shipped to Antwerp by ship. The first arrival is expected in early May.
We have been working intensively with our local partner for more than 15 years. This close cooperation translates into reliability, transparency and high product quality.
Notable this season: where climate change is causing challenges in countries like Peru, the impact in Burkina Faso remains limited for now. That means stable harvests and reliable deliveries.
